Rey Cascante is an Ecuadorian actor and multidisciplinary artist based in Fredericton, New Brunswick. With a background spanning theatre, film, poetry, photography, and live music performance, his work explores storytelling through both intimate and immersive visual mediums.
His performance career began during his post-secondary studies, where he was cast in multiple theatre productions including As You Like It (TST), Refugee Hotel (TST), The Fofana Kingdom (Black Box Productions), Life Goes On (NotaBle Acts), Middletown (TUNB), Foolish Deeds (Solo Chicken Productions), Julius Caesar (Bard in the Barracks), and The Tragedy of Macbeth (Bard in the Barracks).
Transitioning into film, he has taken on leading roles in the short films Come Back (2025) and Framed (2026), further expanding his on-screen presence. He has also appeared as background talent in music video productions in Ecuador. In parallel, he performs as a DJ for community events and private engagements, curating immersive sonic experiences that reflect his strong sense of rhythm and audience connection.
