Rebecca Carrigan, also known as author Becca Blue, is an award-winning filmmaker, author, photographer, and graphic designer now based in New Brunswick after 25 years in the entertainment industry.

She began her career as an actor in Vancouver before discovering her passion for storytelling and filmmaking. Her debut self-published novel, All I Need, became the basis for her first feature film, which won the Royal Reel Award at the Canadian International Film Festival. Since then, she’s written and directed several films, eight novels, mentored new authors and filmmakers, and served as Film Programmer at various Film Festivals. Her contributions to arts and culture earned her a KW Oktoberfest Woman of the Year nomination.

Rebecca’s production work led her to roles as production coordinator for companies like Sony Pictures, Sim International, Electronic Arts Canada and more. With hands-on experience across TV, film, and video games, she developed a deep understanding of the production process.

Shifting her focus back to writing, she earned a diploma in Graphic Design & Interactive Media to support her passion for books. She now runs her small business (Sakura Blue Studios), offering services to the film industry and helping  indie authors bring their stories to life through graphic design and publishing services. She also runs various workshops which include: The Business of Publishing, The Business of Acting, From Book to Screen, and Writing 101: An Indie Author Guide.

Rebecca is still available for contract positions within the Film Industry but is heavily concentrating now on her small business and the next three novels she's about to release! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to inquire about services.
