Matthias Lowry is an experienced Compositor in the visual effects industry. Born in Germany, Matthias moved to New Brunswick in 2000. There, he joined the Fredericton Film Co-op before accepting a spot at the Vancouver Film School to study compositing. Throughout his career, Matthias has worked at companies such as Rainmaker, Image Engine, and Zoic Studios, where he progressed to the role of Lead Compositor. He specializes in using Nuke for compositing and also has a strong background in editing. In addition to his work in the industry, Matthias spent time as a Compositing Teacher and Mentor at Think Tank Training Center, sharing his knowledge with aspiring VFX artists. Matthias is a family man with two sons, aged 13 and 22. In 2022, he and his wife decided to move back to New Brunswick, settling in the town of Burton. With his technical skills, leadership experience, and passion for teaching, Matthias continues to contribute to the VFX industry while enjoying life with his family in New Brunswick.
