Living day to day, Gabriel Sarmiento is a person with strive! He's a multimedia artist who has somewhat of an experience in film making. 

Long story short... Allan is an elder from the Tobique First Nation and has been with NBFC for almost 10 years. He serves as Indigenous Liaison of the New Brunswick Filmmakers' Co-operative for the last 2 years. He has assisted in different roles on 6 shorts and took numerous workshops. He has been researching Wabanaki History from an early age and currently can produce authentic story after story using his Ai he has been working on for the last 2 years. "It's storytelling on steroids" he says. Since 2019 he has been focused on his research for a documentary titled  "Mehtawtik - Fin du Chemin or End of the Path". Mehtawtik was a strategic hub at the confluence of major trade routes, waterways, and cultural exchanges, serving as a gateway between the Atlantic coast and the interior of North America.  It tells the story of early North America and how the Wabanaki were one of the first peoples to encounter others from distant shores. He is currently looking for people with many different talents to take on this massive undertaking about the early history of North America and much more. Allan is also well-established Woolastookew (Maliseet) visual artist from Tobique First Nation who specializes in paintings, photography and carvings that evoke emotion and look at difficult issues facing Wabanaki people today. Allan is also a graphic designer, historian, and budding filmmaker.

Originating from Toronto and later enriching their craft in Saint John, Steph has immersed themself in the intricacies of storytelling. With a flair for the dramatic and comedy, they seamlessly transitioned from singing to acting and then directing. Noteworthy for their meticulous sound recording, Steph elevates the auditory experience of their films. Beyond roles and accolades, Steph's defining trait is an unwavering passion for creativity, driving them to explore new avenues and contribute to the evolving landscape of filmmaking. Their journey is a testament to the power of storytelling, with Steph leaving an indelible mark on the cinematic world.

Hello! I am based in the Fredericton area and am currently seeking opportunities to gain hands-on experience in film production, primarily as a Set Production Assistant, with the long-term goal of moving into Assistant Director roles.

For my “day job”, I am a Senior Project Manager for the Department of National Defence. My years of project management experience has allowed me to successfully develop strong skills in organization, coordination, communication, and prioritization. I’m now looking to apply and expand those skills in a film set environment while learning industry workflows firsthand.

I am currently completing the DGC Maritimes Permittee Program Orientation and WHMIS training to strengthen my foundational knowledge and prepare for on-set work.

I am particularly interested in contributing to productions as a reliable and supportive crew member, and building strong professional habits in a production environment. I understand the importance of professionalism, punctuality, flexibility, and teamwork on set, and I’m committed to showing up prepared and ready to contribute.
